Hi this is Lauren Davis, owner of Culture Shock Clothing and Record store at 2239 Charles Street. Each weekend, the Stateline area is FULL of events and things to do for all ages. At Culture Shock Clothing and Records, we feel that if we want the community to support our local record store, we need to make it our duty to go out and support as much as possible. My goal by making a list each week, is to show you some of the areas coolest events each weekend to make it easier to find fun in the Rock River Valley. These events literally don’t exist without YOUR support so get out there this weekend and participate!

Lots of Live Music happening tonight! Fill up your weekend by supporting local music and events.

Today starting RIGHT NOW 5PM, find the Lone Canary, local indie duo, at Stockholm Inn at 2420 Charles Street starting at 5:30PM then at 8pm, find 8-10 minute increments of live storytelling about Awkward funny situations at Conveyor at 317 Jefferson Street.

At Vino 100, 2217 Perryville Rd, there is a free wine tasting starting about right now at 5 and lasting until 9pm.

Tonight starting at 9PM, find Tundras, King of Demons, Pink Beam, and Anzio at Whiskeys Road House – 3207 N. Main street

At Kryptonite at 308 W. State Street, you can find Weezer Cover Band, Our Name is Jonas at 10PM

Mary’s place at 602 N. Madison Street is hosting the lovely music of Kelly Steward and the Restless Kind and Derek Luttrell. Cover is only $5.

Its comedy night tonight at Franchescos with John Hopkins, comedian who has been making people laugh for over 25 years. Cover is $7 and franchescos is located at 7128 Spring Creek Road.


Saturday March 28th is a day full of Local support

First, find the GRAND OPENING of Rockford Army Surplus at 2305 Charles Street, starting at 10am.


On Saturday, March 28th, head to a Rockford Rage ROLLER DERBY BOUT at Indoor Sports Center at 8800 E. Riverside.

Roller Derby Bout proceeds will benefit the charity, Becca’s Closet, that provides scholarships to deserving high school students.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the bout starts at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $15 at the door. This event is All Ages!


At Take 20, starting at 6:30 you can find Super Bob, Dirty Reggae Punx, Devolve and more! Take 20 is on US 20 in Cherry Valley starting at 6pm. This show is all ages!


Saturday at 8PM, Rockford Art Deli at 402 E. state street presents ALL AGES SHOW: Grandkids, Taboo Blah Blah, and PINK BEAM, $5 Suggested cover


At Whiskeys, at 9pm, at 3207 N. Main Street watch Screw City Saints, Simply Jaded, and Off the Grid as Whiskeys hosts “Rock Night!” No cover.


At Mary’s Place at 9:30, Micky Rosenquist hosts a Singer/Songwriter Round Table. Don’t miss your chance to hear some of the areas top musicians perform and explain their songwriting process in an intimate setting. This round will feature, Jesse Fox & Heather Camcho / Mossy Vaughn & Derek Luttrell / Nathan & Jessica of Starlite Radio!


At 10 PM Saturday night, The Screw City Beardsman have come together another year for charity. Find the band “Born in 86” at Kryptonite at 308 w. State Street. All donations collected will be donated to the Swedish American Foundation for children with cancer.. Find raffle prizes and more!


Last but not least, Every last Saturday of the month is dueling pianos at District! An interactive musical comedy experience that engages audience members and makes YOU the star of the show! This starts at District at 205 W. State Street at 8pm.
